Keeping rear fenders clean

Are you guys putting anything on your rear fenders when dragging? Getting melted rubber of my IROC was always a pain. Want to try tape or something to keep the SS clean.

A thin layer of petroleum jelly will keep the rubber from sticking. It will wash right off with some car wash soap when you’re done racing.

Two things I would never do. Might as well sell the car.

+2 on painters tape. I say an awesome demonstration on Meguire's paint sealant where they were able to rub off the rubber with a rag and detail spray but I still haven't tried that out.

Car wash - doesn't wash off 80% of the dried rubber..

Not racing - Huh? Now where's the fun in that?

3M painters tape.. easy to apply, comes right off.

Done this for years. And if you do get rubber on the paint it comes off easily with wd-40.

Cool. I may try jelly to help keep the cool loking factor because people will giggle after my first few launches

My painter told cheap duct tape rather then masking tape. Seems to work awsome. Spray inside of wheel weels with Pam. Use to spray fenders with Pam , but it's messy.

That's my point if your so friggin worried about it don't race it.
It's a car people. I walk up to a nice car the last thing In doing is critisizing it if it has a little rubber on it.

Like I said earlier, cheap duct tape works awsome. I was leary to use duct tape but my painter said try it. So I did and that's the way I do it. Going to track to night weather permitting.
