hissing noise

I just noticed that my car started to make a hissing noise. While the car is idling you can hear a hissing noise coming from the back of the engine on the passenger side. Sounds just like a air leak. Have no clue what it could be. Does anyone else hear this?

might have a leak in your header? Is it a hissing or a whining noise? I just had to replace my air compressor could be that.

It could be a vacuum leak. But at the same time it could be any number of things. Your best bet would be to make an appointment with your dealer and take her in to get looked at.

Its coming from the back of the motor on the passenger side. Its more like a pulsing air leak. You can feel it if you put your hand on the back of the motor. And now when you start it up it the motor doesn't sound like it use to. If its a vacuum leak is it bad to drive it like this?

I just put a CAI on my wifes car and the next time I had the hood open and the engine running I noticed a hissing, turned out to be the fliter drawing air.

Yea but mine is stock and I would have noticed if it was doing it from the beginning. I just hate goin to the dealer. Don't like other people driving my car.

and may I ask why u havent taken it back to the dealer to get it fixed for free? No one here can fix it or properly diagnose a mystery leak. It will be all speculations and in the end, you will still need to go to the dealer. Just sayin.

I am gonna take in tom. I just hate goin to the dealer cuz all they say is normal or can't dulicate. Were the ones drivin the damn cars everyday and when something doesn't feel right. Your car practically has to break down before they fix it.

i know what you mean. But this problem sounds like it is really obvious, right? have a little faith, maybe it is simple and they take care of it easily. You in West Covina? I go there often. I got flip relatives there.

Just to make sure mine is a v6. Anyways I think I found out wut it is. Theirs a tube that goes from the top of the intake manifold to the back left corner of the motor. To me it looks like it just might be a breather tube. But I don't think it should be leaking like that.
