LFX Mod Thread

Its different enough for its own section, don't you guys think? Wading thru tons of header/tune/cam threads that don't apply is a waste. C'mon, I know there isn't tons of stuff yet but its time.

You could send a pm to a mod but I believe a few people have and it hasn't happened yet. It couldn't hurt to try though

There definitely are enough people calling for it and enough interest in it's own separate forum that it seems like it'd make sense to at least try it out and create the LFX forum.

How about we just post about LFX mods here in this one thread? I will start it off - I have a 2012 1LT/RS. My first mod is to install a RX catch can. I am installing it on the passenger side. To get it to fit properly on the LFX be sure to request the short (unbent) bracket. this will allow it to clear both the computer and the sound resonator on the intake tube. RX is sending me out the correct bracket promptly. This is apparently not an issue if you have a CAI. I am waiting for a Vararam or other option before I purchase a CAI for it.

Once my ride is out of the body shop (500 miles on it and some @**hole throws a rock from the freeway overpass and damages the roof) I have a box in the garage with a new Corsa system ready to take to Berea. Then it's CAI; undecided on which system and if I want to carve it up for a scoop. And of course, the catch can. Not much else performance-wise yet for these motors (to my knowledge).

And later down the road perhaps a full bushing replacement. The suspension seems a little squirrely back there.

Now only if I can get that 1-2 shift down smoother....

It fits perfectly fine with the regular bracket, it will just be at a slight angle...

I am not sure if there was some difference with the computer location on some of the 2012s because it really didn't clear on mine with that bracket. Either way I really don't want it to sit at an angle. Let us know how it works over time.

Gonna get the CAI inc. cold air intake and Rx catch can in the next week or two. Seriously considering the NOWEEDS exhaust diverters in a few months.

BTW, anybody got the NOWEEDS on their ride and do you like it?

I was using the cover post location and it fit. I found out afterwards that there was apparently a bit of rubbing, but it still worked OK.

Here's how it looked/fit when I installed it with the stock intake:

After my CAI Inc. cold air arrived, I did move it to be straight up and down. I had to modify a fin on the radiator around the bolt location so the bracket would fit:

This is how much it caught after about 3,000 miles. I confirmed the "clean" side of the hose was infact dry and didn't have any oil when I moved the catch can.
