I almost fell out of my chair, and I don't even know what BARC means. I just imagined you making dog noises at me for quoting you.

2011 Z28

A friend of mine insists he saw somewhere a Z28 model will be produced in 2011. I thought the Z was dropped and only SS will be used, can anyone clarify this for me.

Thanks in advance.

PS: hoping to get black/black SS no sroof

I believe the "official" stance is that there will be no Z28. But we can hope! We seem to think/hope they will make one in a few years, but most likely not in 2011.

No Z28 at the start of regular production.

After that it's up for grabs. Nothing official.

Well if GM does not make the Z28, I'm sure there will someone who can install the LSA engine and call it the famous Z28, just slap in the logo, so there you have it no worries, if you have the money go for it why wait for GM ,

not everyone is just wanting the LSA dropped in and some badges thrown on. . .but if someone did I wouldn't be too upset. just don't think badges should be thrown on just any ole car. . .

There's a big difference between GM doing it and some guy at the shop doing it. If GM builds a Camaro with the LSA in 2 years and some guys does it next year, expect GM's to be more reliable. The guy will have a nice clone, but it won't have all the R&D behind it.

Dude! I just checked out the pics of your Z28. That is a really clean ride. I'm digin' the wheels.

BIG
Thanks! If I coulda' gotten bigger wheels at the time, I would've. I have managed to run 335s on the rear though without too much "massaging."

Can I get an AMEN! I'd feel a lot better about a car GM has touted to run around the 'Ring without incident than some git-r-dun stabbing the engine between the strut towers. I'm keepin' my faith

Yes GM should be the one to make Z28, however if there was an official statement by GM that there would be no Z28 for the future. lets hope not. I would think that if you have the money, you can get the top notch mechanics to build you one.

I think that may have been a tad unnecessary. Most people who build custom cars, much less the engines themselves, are very respectable and educated people. Though there will be some slightly less umm...mechanically inclined people who will probably try this.
