seems like a good excuse to go with an ATI underdrive and some new HD green belts

do we not have Electric Power Steering? Am I missing something? does it still run off the belt line somehow?

Check the AC belt, it's notorious for being misaligned from the factory.

It's hard to tell, but I think kmarshall has a V6 Camaro. I think V6 cars have hydraulic power steering.
FYI, 2010/2011 SS Camaros have hydraulic power steering too. I believe 2012 was the first year of electric power steering on SS's.

Yes the V6 cars have hydraulic power steering, I have had some belt squeal in warm weather while moving a slow speeds, such as in-and-out of the driveway or while parking the car. The belt squeal comes and goes, so far no belt squeal this winter.

V8s through 2012 have hydraulic power steering. 2013s and on have electric.

OP, I'm more willing to bet it's your air conditioning belt that's slipping. It's a stretch belt - no tensioner/adjustment. Try turning your AC off next time you hear squealing.
