Wheels/Tires
I currently have a 2012 LFX LT.
Here within the next couple months I'd like to replace the big bulky stock tires and get new rims. Most likely leaning towards the ZL1 replicas, unless I see something else. My question is, is what size tires do you guys think work best? Here's popular set ups I've read.. 20x9 front, 20x10 rear 20x9 all corners 275 front, 305 (or) 315 rear. Aside from looks, what will a wider rear tire give me? I'm assuming better traction but that's not a concern to me since I'm not pushing crazy HP. My concern of a different size tire in the rear interfering with tire rotations. Any suggestions? What are you guys who have aftermarket wheels running?

I have 245 set up in the front and 275 in the rear. It gives a good amount of traction and it is still has enough space to not rub. But I was being conservative. You can push (without raising your car) maybe until 305 in the rear ? but that is my opinion alone.

I went with the Factory Reproductions polished aluminum ZL1 replicas, 20x9 all around. Traction is important, but not really high on my list so I didn't need the widest option available. That said, you can run a 305 on a 9" rim, but for me I plan to run the stock 275s at all corners. For now I still have the stock tires, 275 rear and 245 front.
The 20x9s offer the biggest weight loss compared to the stock 20" wheels I had...although compared to your LT wheels there may not be much of a weight difference, but at least you won't be adding weight. Also, the 20x9s have a nice aggressive offset which push the rims outward making for a nice looking setup compared to stock. I did the calculations, and the 20x10s in the rear only stuck out maybe a 1/4" or less further than the 9" wide rims...most of the additional width is inward, not outward. Last but not least with the 9" all around and 275s you can rotate the tires if need be. So thats my reasons for going with what I did. Of course if you want the 10" or even 11" in the back go for it, but in reality a 9" wide rim can accomidate tires that will provide more than enough traction for the V6.

I went with FR's 20x10 all the way around. P295/35/20 with the +23 offset. If you plan on lowering, you might want to go with +35 offset so you don't rub. I have adjustable supercars so I can get the right ride height. But I can rotate my tires all directions. Perfect set up. You go with +35 offset and you'd be set. Great for cornering. Great for all around driving.

Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking maybe
20x10/275 up front and 20x11/315 rear. Still deciding if I want all the same tires or use different sized in the back. Decisions!!

Either way the wider tire on the rear looks better and helps performance. The only issue you have is the 10 is a touch narrow for a 315. It has been done before. But the Camaro really wants an 11 on the rear. |

I have 20x9 on front with a 275 tire, and 20x11 on the rear with 315 tires, I love the way that it performs and looks
