dealer wanted $1000 to place the order. they needed REAL buyers and not made up names....they are audited.

No. Full production doesn't begin until February 2009.

I'm so envious of all of yall that got to order a Camaro. I'm so obsessed with this car it's not even funny. But... me being 17, I can't order one and I'm sure my parents won't get it for me. I would be sooo down to pay for a $30,000+ Orange Camaro SS RS with 21" rims, I don't care if I mess up my credit (the car's soo worth it), but my parents would most likely say otherwise

I wish we could win the lotto.

My birthday's in April, so hopefully when I turn 18, I can get one. For those of you who did order one, do you have to put something down?? And do you have to be 18 just to order one??

Any suggestions on how to get my dream car?

I was way off on my guess. I thought people would be flooding the dealerships. I also thought that dealers would go ahead and order at least one in hopes of having a buyer when the car was delivered.

Anyways, I'm 17 as well, but I'm not planning on getting my Camaro for a year or so. I'm pretty well qualified for a few college scholarships, so hopefully that'll save me some money that I can set aside for my Camaro.

The general public has no idea you can order a Camaro today. Also, dealers are not allowed to pre-order. GM has told them that they will only accept public sales at this point.

I was # 1 to order at my Local Dealer , he was allowed 9.
I wonder how many Camaro's are made a day .... then if mine was 2,944 in the order line.... maybe I could figure the day mine would be made.... just thinking out loud.... LOL

The factory is 3 hours away from me. I'm going to see if I can get my but in there to watch my car being built.

3000 in 3 days isn't really saying much when you consider there are over 500 chevy dealerships all across the country... they had 1000 orders for the Solstice in 40 minutes when the first orders were taken...
so I wouldn't brag too much on 3000 in 3 days.
