Hankook vs. Pirelli

It's time to change the tires on the hellbeast again, and I was eyeing Tire Rack for cheaper, but still good alternatives to the P-Zeros that came with the car.

No objection to getting P-Zeros again, but I'm looking at the Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110's. Anyone here have personal experience with this tires who can tell me how they stack up against the Pirellis?

I've been wondering the same thing, I put P-Zeros on again when it was time to switch, but I looked at those but just couldn't decide and just put the same ones back on. I'm curious what others have to say about it.

I have the Ventus v12's on my fronts and Ventus ST's on my rears. They are great tires for the price. As far as I can tell they handle the same as the P-zeros.

Hancooks get hard quicker than the Perelli's. They will last a little longer, but the ride and grip do not last as long. If you are primarily a DD with little to no track time, they will be fine. If you take them to the track and get them heated, they will get hard on you after they cool down.

Hankooks are a fine street tire. Great value for the price.

I've had bad luck with Hankook sport tires. The Hankook Optimo tires I put on my Accord lasted like 50K miles and were a FANTASTIC tire. The Hankook Ventus V12 I put on my Genesis Coupe (when I had it) were burning 1/32 off per 1000 miles of NORMAL driving.

I had Ventus V12's on my '02 Vette. Great tire for DD, adequate grip for spirited canyon runs, with predictable break away at the limit. No experience on Tracks with them, but anything with a 300 rating is not going to grip like the P-zero. I ran two sets of them and managed 30,000 miles per set. I will probably put them on my Camaro when the time comes...

I noticed on tirerack.com that the ventus is 3 lbs lighter in the front and 4 lbs lighter in the rear per tire compared to the p zero. Thats 14 lbs total. Isnt that like 14 horsepower? Its tire replacement time for me too, the weight savings seem tempting. I installed cor forged monoblocks on my SS and I can really notice the weight savings. Any input?

I would get the BFG Comp-2. I had them on my 2010 and loved them.
