Yup - the GT500 skates by without and the '13, it sounds like, is expecting to get by without it, too.

I think my first experience with gg tax was my 06 trailblazer SS, or the 03 cobra one of the two

i had one car that was automatic.. god i hated that car--grand am 99-- it felt like it was sleeping and when you wanted to pass on a single lane.you have to mash it to get some get up and go..that trans was no match for the v6, and all the noise the engine reving like hell the trans that downshifted no power at all ..
even so with 580 horses, i feel that when i'll get my zl1 i would have made a mistake for not taking the one with the shifter.. 6 speed is for me. i know ,automatics shifts more rapidly and so forth but in a manual car, for me, i have more control, i can downshift and i'm always in gear ready for attack.. in automatic car i feel i have my hands tied up not in control.. anyway it's a question of choices ,of course in everyday traffic, i would prefer the auto.. i respect your choices you are the one who chooses and pay for it. For what its worth, I have a 70 chevelle SS LS6 car. Its automatic and if I could change one thing about the car, I would have made it a stick car..........

Stick... Auto's are boring. If I was buying the car primarily to drag race I'd go auto, but I'm not, so....

Personally if I was ordering the ZL1 I would want the fastest version. That is the auto. No way I would buy the slower car just to compensate for some insecurity.

As I did with the colors here is a chart of the Transmission types people have gotten based upon the VIN provided to Becky.

I'm hoping for me getting the Auto will help me drive slower. I have a very difficult time driving my SS slow due to it being a standard trans. I know it's all in my head, but that's just the way it is with me.
