Clutch pedal not returning problem at Camaro5 - solved

Here are some pictures of installing our clutch pedal return spring kit in a customer vehicle (600LPE) at Camaro5. During the first day he had problems with the clutch pedal not returning after high rpm shifts. We had one of our clutch pedal return spring kits on our 800TT Camaro display vehicle so we removed it from that vehicle and installed it on his car.

Problem solved. The clutch pedal return kit is available in two versions right now - one for the 5th Gen Camaro and one for the C5 and C6 Corvettes.

BTW - this car has a roll cage with a fixed door bar so that made the installation a bit more difficult. The quick-disconnect steering wheel didn't help the install but it made taking the pictures easier.

how much more leg do you have to give it with the added tension of that spring? would a clutch upgrade say maybe a new 2 disc set up help?

Seems like a way to mask a problem that shouldn't be there to begin with.

It doesn't add too much more effort to the clutch pedal. I could drive with this fix all day long in traffic.

It saved my weekend... and now I don't have to worry about the clutch pedal sticking to the floor or 1/2 way down anymore.

Once my car is back from the Fest, I will try to take a picture of what the spring connects to.

i installed this mod also. very simple to install. however i found that the spring added more tension than i would like hard to play around w. the clutch esp. in traffic. i just went to home depot and bought different spring tensions and i installed the spring that suited me best. its hard to go back to the stock feeling after this install. this mod helps with the stuck clutch pedal.

Quoted for truth: this seems like a band-aid.

Isn't the real solution to upgrade the fluid and separate it out into its own reservoir?

The separate reservoir makes it easier to change out the clutch fluid, and when the pedal sticks, by changing out the fluid with cold fluid it cures the problem. But in a round about way. It seems that when the fluid gets really hot it won't let the pedal come back out releasing the clutch.
The spring stops the problem by allowing the clutch to release even with hot fluid.
