I just recently did the flex fuel conversion. My first impressions are
What a difference, I gained about 100 whp but upped my boost by 2 pounds also. So I'm guessing around 50-60 whp because of E85. Since getting it, I filled my tank maybe 20 times and put 93 in it once, lol. And of course when I did put 93 in it, I ran into a high powered mustang where I could've used that extra horsepower. I doubt if I ever put 93 in it again, lol. E85 is awesome and very abundant where I live. I don't see much difference in price either. I know I go thru more but where I'm at, I can get for $1.99. And to answer kabooms question, what's the cost? There's a bunch of variables. I had 85# injectors, so I was good there. Where the real money lied in was the fuel pumps, I had to do the twin fuel pumps from Fore for e85. So it depends on where your car is at. If it's highly modded car, you might need injectors and a fuel pump. It was around $5K for mine. 1K for the flex fuel conversion, 2500-3000 for the pumps purchase and installed, plus odds and ends.

Just my .02 cents but as I'm sure you know, try not to get caught up in the numbers game. There is som many variables. When you duty of the car. You could dyno your car one day and then next day get 25 less hp. Go by how it feels. You should notice the difference, I know I did. I had my dyno last year before e 85 and got 607, then 3 months later, got 575. It didn't feel any different. So before you come guns a blazing, take it for a ride, then still not satisfied, start shooting, lol. But I'm positive your going to be happy. And you went big, triple file pumps and 1500 injectors damn!

Could I do the flex fuel conversion without adding a fuel pump? And just do ID850 injectors, E85 conversion kit and a tune?

Unlikely, you would need a BAP at minimum.

I know exactly what you mean, I go by track times. I never get hung up on the numbers, I was just saying a gain of only 30 would be extremely low for my setup.

You would be cutting it very close with a BAP and 850's.

$400 for a plug and play flex fuel sensor, whatever you decide you need for fuel system, and appropriate tuning. It could be a lot or a little depending on where you're at.

So worth it. You'll love the gains. And the smell of e85 with no cats.
But be prepared to get about 14-16mpg lol

Preliminary results are in. Picked up 54 RWHP and 45 RWTQ in the heat on a stingy Mustang dyno with 63% ethanol in the tank. Woot!
