I want an Axel back w/ minimum drone at highway speeds

I am thinking about getting an axelback for my 12 2lt rs. not a fan of raspy exhaust, prefer a lower tone. But i keep hearing about the drone. Comming from a 2002 silverado w/ a flowmaster, I know how anoying it can be. Does anyone a have a video crusing at highway speed w/ the drone 65-75?

I had a MRT v2 and found it too droney for the amount of highway miles I run.
I've heard the Borla is has much less drone but have no 1st hand experience with it.

the GMPP GM offers for the LFX has no drone at 65 mph.
I have it paired with a BBK intake.
it doesn't "fart" on the downward rev either like the mrt or the corsas do.
pure low tone.
somewhere here I have vid and sound...
GMPP is made by Borla tuned for the Camaro.
I love it.
not a fan of MRT
just doesn't sit right putting that on a Camaro...and I have owned mustang tech.....
ps....GMPP= general motors performance parts.
I think....

I just installed MRT V2 a couple of weeks ago. The drone isn't really that noticeable. But then again I have owned a number of Camaros with headers and side pipes. As well as a couple of Vettes with headers and side pipes. Maybe those cars affected my hearing, but really? If its to loud you are to old. I love the way mine sound, if I ever get tired of the noise ill just turn up the stereo. A?????

I purchased two Cherry Bomb extremes, 2.5 inch in and out for my SS. Cut the stock mufflers off, used a wide band to mount it on where I cut the stock mufflers off and then got my local muffler shop to weld some pipes from the muffler out to the back again and it sounds really good. Not much drone at all going down the road, but definitely louder than stock. I will tell you that before I got the extensions put on and the sound was dumping out right under the back, I thought about getting rid of them because it was so loud, but after the extensions were put on post-muffler, I was really shocked at how good it sounded and not much drone at all over stock. Once I put my long tubes on, I think it will be just right.

I am familiar with Flowmaster, I put one on my 300. Although the sound is awesome, it does drone, not to mention it doesn't flow as well as other mufflers.

I have the Borla axle-back 11776 and really like it. It is not raspy and no drone. I have some video's at the link below. Look at post #12 for a HQ video. No cruising video's, but at 60-80 mph in high gear, I have no drone.

Just be advised, it is very quiet until you really get on it. I would venture to say it is one of the quietest one's available.

install was easy, and parts are high quality. LMK if you have any questions.

You have a V8...comparing apples to oranges. With all due respect, completely irrelevant for a V6 comparison.

So we all have to like it because you do and if we don't like it we are too old? And I love the part about covering up the poor quality sound by turning up the radio to drown it out!

OP, as you have read there are several quality options that will get you a properly tuned axle back. I trust you won't let reasoning like above influence you to purchase a product you won't be happy with.

I got the MRT v1 for the loud start up and idle. I had warning of the highway drone so I installed the j-pipes before installing. That was only an added 65$ and added about 2 hrs to install because we went by pictures and had to fit and adjust. But, I have 0 drone at 65-75. But in Az, where the limit is a little higher, I began to hear that drone. But as said earlier, a stereo 'fixes' that for some of us.

Like a lot of trolls here you took the post out of context. I didn't say you had to like it. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I was simply stating that I didn't find the drone that bad.
I am sure OP can make an educated decision without you holding his hand. There are all kinds of sound clips on here and YouTube that will help in the decision making process. Simply stated I have the MRT V2. Apex was awesome as well as MRT support.

I put Dynomax V/T's on my 1LT and love them. The V/T means valve-tuned:
Check out their website and watch their demos and see for yourself. A really solid buy and totally easy to install yourself if you want.
