Maryland - 75-80 Dragway
All Interested:
The 75-80 Dragway has 2 weeks left of "Test and Tune", a division open to anyone with 4 wheels willing to pay $40.00 to run the strip for the evening. The next drag night is Friday, September 6, 2013. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. and close at 10:00. There is other competitions going on between runs, but getting there early opens the door to a potential 5-6 drag runs. I will be going. I wanted to throw this out to anyone else in the Fredrick area that may want to burn rubber. http://75-80dragway.com/ Be sure to read the rules. Hope to see other G5's. |

I'll keep Capital in mind; it's a little further away (45 miles vs 8) but based on what you say, it sounds worth it.

Capitol has gotten a lot better in the last year. On Friday nights get there early, as close to 5 as you can. After 6:30 it starts to get crowded real quick!!!
Ice Ice Iceberg "Ice Ice Bergy" Yo, I C E, Let's kick it! Ice Ice Bergy, Ice Ice Bergy All right stop, Collaborate and listen Ice is back with his brand new tires Something grabs a hold of the track tightly Flows like Borla exhaust daily and nightly Will he ever stop? Yo – I don't know Turn off the lights and under his hood the Green Lantern glows To the extreme his tires kick rocks like a vandal Light up some tires and waxes his car with a candle. :-) |

75-80 is, at best, a substandard excuse for a drag track. There is no track prep to speak of, various types of foliage growing out of the lanes in spots...and charges too much in general. If you're only choice is this crap hole or to race behind a steel mill or something...I choose mill

I'm gonna do test and tune here Friday mainly as me and my dad would come go up there alot and watch and with them closing down, id like to to a few more passes. I know it's not the best but it's worth it for me. But capital or mason Dixon are probably gonna be the next tracks ill be looking at.

73 if you are ever coming to Capitol let me know. Where I work is only 15 minutes from there. I'm usually game for test and tune most Fridays when the weather is good.

It probably wont be till next year, my clutch isn't as strong as she used to be so probably my new winter project. I was gonna ride out to MIR Monday with the DMV crew but its almost 2 hours from my house, didn't think it was that far.

I've heard Capitol sometimes get's very "dark" so to speak with the types of people that hang out there which is a little scary IMO for a racetrack. But otherwise it sounds like a great place to go and wouldn't mind making a trip there sometime.
