How about a Z06 motor in a 2011 Camaro Z28? 505HP is more that enough for the ZETA platform... anything more would likely require considerably more work and reinforcements ie gearing suspension etc. Any takes??

Recap:
2011 Z28, Z06 Motor, 6 Speed Option only, Special emblems, RS Package Standard, 2SS Options Only, No moonroof (505HP does not need a moonroof!), MSRP $43,000??? Any takers? 5000 less than GT500... much better fuel economy and motor! Maybe add special hood or front diffuser?

put me down for this as well the 2SS will complemnt the Z28. Nice for the collection.

I have to agree with keeping my hopes up for the ALL POWERFULL Z28!! I also think that with threads like these showing GM how much we REALLY want this, as well as the how well the SS Models sell, the chance for a Z is still there...At least that's what I plan to keep telling myself. LOL

The Z28 is not dead. I keep telling myself that. I watch the market and I watch the oil prices. Every day I visit this site for uplifting comments about our beloved. When will we know.

I just wanted to revitalize this thread because after the dust has settled from all the ordering and pricing and knocking it out of the ballpark pricing, (By the way I mean pricing is spot on and perfect) there is just one little, no, huge order of business to discuss. The Z28. Our Killer Camaro. When will she rise again.

Who's still waiting like me. I almost went to the dealer today to order an SS2. I stopped myself.
Oh I'm definitely waiting for the Z... and if it's not gonna turn out to be what I expect it to be, I'll see a 2 year-old Corvette in my driveway within a year or 2. Z51 LS3 ragtop or Z06... and keep my '98 SS

Best regardSS,

Elie

I wish people would leard to read between the lines and pay attension to the little things fbodfather (scott settlemire) says. Back in 2002 at a local car show scott was there with the local camaro club and I asked him will the camaro be back and his responce was "we didn't build a corvette every year now did we". They knew back then it was coming back but just couldn't say because of all that union crap. THERE WILL BE A Z28. But unfortunatly you must wait a couple years. My prediction is that as soon as they get the production going strong we will start to see spy pics of a 5th gen in camo. Do you really think that the 550 hp lsa engine will stay exclusive to the cts v. Just my .02 cents and appolgize if I steped on anyones toes.

EXACTLY ! MY OTHER POINT TO THAT WAS LOOK HOW MANY 69 Z/28 CLONES THERE ARE. I HAVE SEEN SOME PRETTY NICE WORK ON THIS FORUM OF SOME Z/28'S THAT HAVE BEEN DONE, LIKE JINX ETC. SO IF THE FACTORY DOESN'T PROVIDE WE CAN SEE WHAT COMES OUT OF SEMA

KJ

PS I WILL NOT OWN AN SS EITHER I WANT A Z/28

I must say again, Z28 should be built per order only. 40K+ Camaros are going to sell at low volumes to build and put on lots.

I read the interview and TBHWY I was pretty excited. I honestly do feel they will come out with the Z28 but this tactic of saying they wont has been played on the masses too many times! LOL!! If they said Z28 comes out next fall...wouldnt you wait to order it??

I have to agree, I thought that scoop was part of the reason why the Camaro was so appealing. It looks good from a design point of view, isn't that the reason why it was included in the SS?
