That is called a Combat Grip and is currently being taught and praised as the best. It has became popular in IDPA and USPSA, along with other competitve shooting. With a revolver however it will and does leave the thumb exposed to SEVERE damage.

Not a bad idea, I got the 45 for a CC when I'm on my bike and have a armored jacket to cover it, so I'm not going to waste Too much in ammo.

We certainly enjoy shooting the .460 and we have a local outdoor range that only charges $10 to shoot all day.

Thanks BA! We really enjoy this little piece. My daughter shot it for the first time last Sunday and my nephew was shooting the video on his crappy cell phone (Sorry). His response to the sound is priceless as well as my daughter's "I Love It" comment made my day.

My wife asked for that exact same gun for her 45th birthday. She loves to shoot it. She also has a North American Arms Wasp in .22 Mag pictured below. These are her two carry guns.

Funny story - We took both to an indoor range one day. There were some pretty big dividing walls between lanes so you can shoot and nobody sees what you are shooting.

There were guys everywhere with their .45 and .40's making noise and beating their chests. Well our son, 15 at the time, steps up to the firing line, loads a .460 round in the S&W and fires it off. The sound was absolutely incredible. EVERY other shooter stops firing and backs out of their lane to see what cannon was just fired. My son sets the S&W down, picks up the NAA .22 and steps back showing it to everyone. It was priceless seeing all those guys faces.
