Only the criminals are allowed to own them. Damn system. What happened to the old American tradition? When the enemy has bigger guns, then we make ours bigger.

If you lived in a free state, you could have one. I have a friend who has both a Bushmaster 50 and a Barrett. Another friend of mine has a Barrett as well.

Before purchasing and carrying a pistol in your car, please get handgun training and a concealed carry permit.

As far as a Taurus Judge, it's okay. However IMHO, .410 shot shells isn't the best defensive round and .45 Long Colt is okay, but there are definitely better defensive cartridges out there.

My recommendation before you buy your first pistol is to try out several handguns at your local gun range and become familiar with the many types of handguns out there as well as the different calibers. Once you have done this, then you can decide what handgun would be the best for you to use for self-defense.

I won't comment on wether or not 21 is a good age for a gun. truth it comes down to macurity, I know 40 year olds that shouldn't own firearms. I don't know you and can't judge that. However, I would not keep it in the car. If you have a carry permit, carry it on you. otherwise it ends up being a consealed weapon and can get you in trouble, and I've had a few freinds have there guns stolen out of their cars. It's a pain in the butt meeting the requirements for having a weapon in your car.

AS an example: I lived in Boulder City, NV. It's a small town near Las Vegas. I would goto the gun range in Vegas. It your in Vegas, you can have the gun assemble and loaded as long as it's not hidden. I had to drive through Henderson, NV. In Henderson, the weapon can be assemble as long as it's in the open, but the ammo must be stored in a seperate location (i.e the trunk). In Boulder Ctiy, the gun must be at least partially disassembled (i.e. The barrel removed). Thats 3 different laws and the drive from my house to the range was only 15 minutes.
