2013 Victory Red - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I went to one of the dealers in my area to see their selection of '13 camaros. I wanted to see if they had ordered any with the dual tone(ZL1) exhuast. Even though they didnt have any of those,they did have several '13s in stock.They had just gotten in a couple of victory red ones that had just been cleaned up to be put on the lot. Now this is hard to explain but Ill try. It looked like there were little,tiny specks in the paint. Kind of like flake but not near that much. Just little tiny specks(no they werent any kind of detailing or cleaning overspray). They looked kinda silver or white(they kinda sparkled). Also, if you didnt look very close and if the sun had not been out so very bright(no clouds at all) you would probably have not been able to see them. I felt the hood and it was smooth to the touch(no I didnt have a freezer bag with me

)It didnt look like a defect,it actually looked good!! I didnt think the paint was any different in'13.Sorry no pics, but all I had with me was my phone and I highly doubt id been able to capture it with that.Anyway, if someone can shed some light on this for me it would nice!!Thanks

Sounds like crystal red, not victory red to me

crystal red has a lot more metallic flakes than what the op is describing. lol no mistaking crystal red and victory...at least i hope not!

The way you described it sounds like crystal red to me, victory red does not have metallic flake in it, as far as I know. Here's a picture I found

Sorry man. Thats the reason I was asking . I know it was VR. It even said it on the invoice. But it just looked different when the light hit it just right.Didnt mean to snap at you!!

It's all good, we all have our moments. Sounds like a sweet red whatever it is. If you get a chance you should snap a picture.

Hopefully someone has a good idea of what it could be?

Thats just it. It said Victory Red on both invoices on both red camaros. I didnt see any kind of paint"add on" on there either.

I have a 2013 VR ZL1 vert that I got 2 weeks ago. This past weekend I spent about 4 hours detailing her with Zaino clay bar and a couple coats of Z-2. What the OP has described in nothing that I have seen on my car. Mine is just a smooth coat of super shiny red; no silver or white specks. I am pretty anal about things so I definitely would have noticed.
