Quick question...

Sorry if this has been asked five million times, but I just have a quick question..

For those of you who have painted your engine covers, what type of paint do you use? Photos? I'm wanting to paint mine but I don't want it to look bad. I tried searching but I didn't really find what I was looking for.

I just wanted something simple so I had it painted RJT like the car. Four Years and no issues.

1- wet sand
2-blow dry with air [ make sure all moister is gone]
3 - 2 coats self etching primer , I used rustolium spray can
4- used regular car paint in spray can, [make sure all primer is covered]
5- topped of with 3 coats of clear coat paint, also used rustolium spray paint.

You can buy primer and clear coat paint at local hardware store or walmart. Hope this helps.

Just be careful when removing, parts of the cover are flexible and some types of paint will crack when flexed

I got one of these from a member on here and it looks sweet.
I own a graphics shop I ended up putting vinyl lettering on it and I'll do some graphics later.
Paint is nice, but I love that vinyl is completely removable when needed, that way I can change up the look any time I feel like it lol.

If you want something up just message me.
I'll put a pic up when I get a chance to snag one.

yea these are a little tougher to paint because they have a texture to them, but you'll do fine. post some pics when you get done.
