I do the oil change myself as most of u guys. I only got 4.8Liters oil out of the car for running 5000kms. I think I should start to pay attention to the dipstick once a month now, as least. I guess GM should change the owners manual about the change intervals for this engine at least. The OCI based on the ecu % is seems too confident to say in a "owners manual".

Confirmed again this morning. Oil level is normal, so turn out my engine burns off a quart of oil somewhere between 3k and 4k miles. I will check more often next time to observe the level.

Thanks everyone for all your help. Love this frikkin forum.

Ok folks lets say this together:
"usage of 1 quart of oil within 500 miles is within normal design parameters"

and checking the Dip stick can be confusing, I tought my Oil Press gauge was reading a little low, When I checked my Oil level, I saw oil on one side of the dipstick but not on the opposite side, I tried several times and saw the same thing, Oil on one side , not the other. I tought I had enough oil but deceided to add a quart to see. When I added a quart, The reading on the dipstick showed the correct oil level and on both sides of the dipstick. evidently I was picking up oil from the tube when inserting the dipstick.

Blade,

Just make sure that you have'nt seen this guy standing next to your garage at night. Some people cant afford buying a beer, so they suck your oil.

I had my engine rebuilt at 9,000 miles. I beat on my car pretty hard. I change my oil (synthetic) every ~5,000 miles and I typically have to add about 1.5 to 2 quarts of oil between changes. I check my oil once every two weeks or so and that I've always been low every 2 weeks but not TOO low.

I'm pretty sure in one of my GM Manuals (Tahoe, Silverado, Camaro) it says check engine oil level every time you fill up with gasoline. You will be fine if you do. Just my $.02.
