Question Best drag radials for stock rims?

I have the 20 inch stock rims and tires still. What's the best performance tire I can get that fits onto these rims? I don't want to have to replace the rims. This car is not a DD and I never drive it in the rain or snow. Looking to get better track times and still be able to drive on the street.

Nitto 555R Drag Radials. They make them in a 275/40/20. Perfect for street and strip!!

Nitto is what I use. They have several options. NT05, NT05R, NT555R. I purchase mine here: www.onlinetires.com.

Good Luck !!

Nittos would definitely be your best option, the other options are more aggressive and don't work as well in adverse conditions (even though you said you don't drive in them). Another thing is that you can get a good bit of mileage out of the Nittos. I had them on my 99 Trans Am and got as much as 15k miles out of a set daily driving them.

How much better are those than the stock Pirelli's? I'm a total tire noob. I have trouble keeping traction on the street and the strip.

Would these fit on the car, and would 305's be that much better over 275s?

They will get much better traction on the street or strip than the stock Pirelli's, but they will certainly wear down much faster too.

The Nitto NT05R is the latest offering from Nitto. Pumpkin was running NT05R when we ran 12:35 (bolt on's).

Like everyone else said they will perform considerably better but will wear quite a bit faster then the stock Pirellis.

That why you need a second set of rims.

Also are these tires better then the potenza Re070R 285/35/20

Yeah, they're 40's. I was confused on the sidewall ratio.
