ZL1 engine mods 300 RWHP GAIN!! VIDEO!!

Just sent my ZL1 into the shop to get some engine mods done. It baselined at 510RWHP with no tune, and just a Roto-Fab CAI. We have some preliminary results, and it made more than 700+RWHP. I don't have the exact specs of what was done, or the numbers yet, but its safe to say that once its tuned, it will crest 750hp. Stay "tuned" for the results.

Results are in, and boy did Rick produce the numbers. There is still some power to be found, but this is a safe tune, since the factory rods and pistons are the weak link in the ZL1 chain. But even in safe mode, the factory clutch is my crutch now, so with all this new power, I am gonna need one of his 2 disc clutch setups. Dammit, he made me too much power!!!

Once he sends me the laundry list of all the mods, I will post them here for you ALL to see. He didn't tell me how much boost it was making to make that kind of power, but it is still on a safe tune.

Here is a short version, as he might have done more....

Trick Flow 255 heads
Ported intake manifold
Ported blower and snout
Ported factory throttle body
Custom cam
ATI balancer and 8.6 lower pulley
2.55 blower pulley
LPE isolator
80lb injectors
Roto-Fab CAI
Moroso oil separator
AR 1 7/8 stainless headers and 3" exhaust with stock mufflers

Scroll down for the results......

Looks like the heads are off, not sure how that is "bolt on".

Trick flow heads and ported snout... those are not considered "bolt on" mods

Very nice numbers though!

LMAO.... Yeah, I think when you change the heads it is considered internal modifications. Great looking motor though. You are going to be in the big boy class my friend. Keep us informed on what it does on the dyno and on the track.

Just the ported snout stuff...lol! As I said, I'm o.k. with a "bolt on" ported snout in many threads.

Perhaps as long as something doesn't have to be modified/machined, and just needs to be 'assembled', it's considered by the OP to be a 'bolt on'.

again, lets not get back into that age old argument, lets just see what kind of gains he ends up with.

Nice man! Can't wait for the finished results/pics!

And technically, the heads/snout are held on by "bolts" and are "bolted" to the motor. The bottom end didn't move.

My bottom end hasn't moved in quite a while.
