You'd be surprised. I used to live in NJ as a kid on and off when I wasn't in Canada and I got lost in NYC when I was 19 after seeing GWAR in concert there. Me and a friend, 1:00am in NYC, lost, trying to find a way back to NJ 'cos the building we took the PATH train from Hoboken to NYC was closed.
We must've looked REALLY lost 'cos this guy started yelling at us from across the street "GET OVER HERE!" For some stupid reason we did and he says "You boys are lost, aint ya?" We told him yes and expalined what had happened, he hailed a cab for us and told the cabbie to take us to the WTC (this was in 1991, they were still there) 'cos there were trains there to Hoboken. Told us everything we needed to know, even offered to help pay for the cab.

I couldn't believe how helpful this guy was.

Phoenix is kind of a mixed bag....I wouldn't bet on the same thing happening here but I wouldn't rule it out totally maybe I'll be surprised some day? Thing you have to remember about Arizona is that it is ultra conservative out here. Where else can you walk around with a holstered or concealed weapon without a permit? Detroit? Michigan? Hell no, people are a paranoid out there and some have good reason, most don't.

Problem is this was 91, well before the internet and CNN made almost every American a quivering pile of irrational fear.

Lots of reasons, lower population, bigger country, simple logistics I guess....but I think the main reason is that our dollars haven't always been equal. In the late 70's 80's and 90's the Canadian dollar was worth an average of 65 cents US. As a result, Canadians have been so accustomed to paying far more than Americans for so long that I think companies know they can continue charging those prices 'cos Canadians have proven that's what the market here will bear.

Why charge a Canadian less for a Gizmo when for the last 30 years they've shown they're willing to pay more?

Just for those who forget....Canada declared War on Germany in Sept 1939.

Americans came up and joined CAF for over 2 years before Germany declared War on the USA in Dec 41................. while the 2 " parties " debated it.

Huh huh ...= Eh!
