Z/28 Brake Life - What are you seeing

Talk to me, what can i expect ? I daily mine, well, just bought a truck so the miles may slow down. With my previous car i did a lot of autocross and only a few track days. With this car i wanted to do more track and the same amount of autocross...

I'm not rich, brake cost is a concern...

So, i'm preparing for it like any other expense, but i'd like to know what you guys are getting out of your brakes? I'm sure most haven't had to touch them but some have. What kind of use did you get before replacement?

the rotors can last a looong time...thank goodness. The pads seem tough too. I had 10 track days on mine and they still had at least 1/2 life left. I replaced them but kept old pads for emergency use. It has been noted on corvetteforum: it is better with CCRs to change sooner rather than waiting too late and risk damaging an expensive rotor. Seems like the right choice so far. Burnishing the new brake pad set seemed easier for some reason. Maybe the material embedded in the rotor is helping this situation.

So I have a noticed squeaking while braking at low speeds, for instance in a parking lot but no squeaking after stop while say coming off the highway. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes. Normal CCB feedback.

Unfortunately yes, part of the high performance brake trade off. You can have quiet but you won't get capability, at least not as much.

My car will be picked up next week with its new brake set up. I will post a write up when I get back from Sebring and PBIR next month. Carbon Cermics are amazing, however if replacement cost is an issue check out a steel set!

See below. Chevy estimates that the rotors will last 20 times longer than pads. For those who only drive it on the street they'll likely never have to change them. Not sure how long pads last on the track as I don't track mine.
