My Convertible; "Almost" and end to the Journey.
To some of you, it’s just another car, a vehicle to get you from point A to B, although in what I consider to be a sportier standard than most. To me, it’s much more. It’s the accumulation of 5 years of waiting, speculating, saving, defending it’s existence to the “haters”, whining about features or lack there of, jockeying for ordering position, placing a deposit and finally placing the order.
It’s an end to those sleepless nights of wondering if I made the right choice in color, options and model. Did I spend too much on modifications? Will I ever stop going to Camarotracking.com 10 times a day to see if there has been any change in status. I’m sure there are many of you out there with similar timelines in this never ending saga of the Car buying journey. Well today, and this week brings me to that seemingly elusive TPW date. I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel for my journey, along with several other future convertible owners. I know there are “waits” ahead, but I will hopefully be able to see, if only in writing, a physical and material reality of my journey thus far. Thanks to the GM team in Oshawa and those who envisioned, planned and brought to reality the 5th generation Camaro Convertible. Good luck to those who are waiting with me, those who have yet to begin this journey, and those who have finally ended theirs. |

I know how you feel. Just wait until it's on the rail car. I think i called that number every 30 minutes for a status update. It got to the point where I had my rail car number memorized. Unfortunately, I'll have to go through that whole process again since I just sold mine.

EXACT same boat- waiting for yrs upon yrs, pissing off my wife with everyother word being "Camaro" non stop checks to GMConnnects.com (just in case the notifications were working suddenly) etc etc...nice to know im not alone! Hopefully it'll.all be worth the stress and wait soon!

From the day I saw the concept car, I told the wife I would own one. I started my driving life with a 68 RS/SS convertible, and I've loved the thought of "just driving" ever since! I'm not looking to relive my childhood. Just enjoy the next stage of my driving life with what I know is one awesome machine!

The wait for delivery after production is the hardest part. My car took 3 days to travel by rail from Canada to San Antonio. It then took another 5 days to travel the remaining 75 miles by truck.
Hang in there...
