Port LS3 heads or invest in LS7 heads?

Just trying to figure out which would be a better way to go? (cost effectiveness)

Is is worth it to invest in CNC ported LS7 heads to swap out with the LS3's? Or am I better off just porting my LS3 heads? Either set up I go with would have new valves/springs, etc...

My plan is to get a 418ci or 427ci stroker kit(maybe), blower cam and procharger.

Bore is too small on the LS3 and valves would hit. You have 2 choices to get LS7 heads. Either go with a different block or go with ET small bore LS7 heads. Both options will be very pricey.

There's some good options coming very soon though... We have a aftermarket casting LS3 head being finished that will move LS7 flow numbers & still retain all your LS3 hardware. We also are working on a LS7 heads with large & small bore options!

throw the 427 stroker idea out the door... a 4.1" stroke crank is excessive

stock ls3's will flow enough, but if you feel the need to waste money, get a set of ported ls3 heads

I would wait to see what SEMA brings.. it's only a month away.

That's when new parts get announced... especially something like what you want.

What he said If you're going forced induction with cam, stock LS3 heads would be more than enough.

you would be better off to ditch the ls3 style all together and get some trick flow 235's or afr 230 heads.

uuhhh so you want him to spend MORE money for a set of heads that flow LESS, and would require him getting a different style intake, and either new fuel rails or an adapter kit?

explantation please

Yeah unless AFR or Trick Flow come out with a LS3 style head the cathedral port head idea would be a bad costly idea.
