Things I learned from Camaro5 and Goodbye
Well my midlife crisis is officially over.
I traded in my Camaro for a 2010 F150 Lariat Supercrew yesterday. The things I learned while owning my Camaro and visiting this site that will help me down the road are: 1) How to properly wash and wax a car. (Thanks Junkman) 2) How to remove swirls from an imperfect wash and wax (Thanks Junkman) 3) How to properly break-in a car (or truck) (Thanks Darin) 4) How to get free accessories by being a test mule (Thanks Screamin) I am sure there are other things I missed but the car forums are a great way to improve your vehicle. I have some 2010 Camaro stuff for sale in the classified section so email me at sissonsengineer@yahoo.com if you want any. I probably won't be on this site much (if at all) so Adios Amigos! |

Hate to see you go, but I understand how life dictates change.
I traded in my Dodge Ram Extended Cab for my 1st Camaro last year. There are plenty of times I miss having a truck, but I seem to be getting by without one for the moment. Good Luck & I'll be checking out your items listed.

I've owned a 1st gen. 2nd gen. and now a 5th gen. My only regret is I trash vehicles with the mileage I put on them and could not afford to buy an SS to sit in the garage. By going with a truck I could assume you could not afford to have another vehicle payment too.

No, I can only afford one new vehicle payment (or two very used vehicle payments.)

Wow, What a sad thread.
I can't imagine trading my SS for anything else on the road. At 68 I'm way past my mid-life crisis. Or maybe I'm on my second or third. lol.

As a mid-40's guy who is currently sans-Camaro my plan is to have *both* a Camaro and a pick-up.
I've had a 2nd and a 4th gen Camaro and am very much looking forward to my 5th gen. That said, as an old guy with arthritis, I know it's not going to be as easy as it used to be getting in and out....therefore I'm getting the 'vert! In any case, thanks for your participation, insight, and summary of your times here. I hope to learn half as much in my tenure here! Mid-life crisis, here I come! Tib |

LOL, I do have a 81 Jeep Cherokee, the Full Size Jeep, not the unibody Cherokee from '84 and up. Love the old lady.

That hurts twice. It wouldn't be so bad if you stayed in the Chevy family. Good luck anyway.

I drove around in my 2003 Mach 1 for a week while I was waiting on some O2 wire extensions to ship from Canada for my longtube header install. After getting back into the Camaro SS, the Mach 1 feels like a real turd.
I could not see myself getting rid of the SS anytime soon.
