I'll bet Scott's enjoying reading the 367+ posts. He knows the faithful are still strong.

No, GM has the issues worked out. It was always a very small amount of cars affected.

However if the condition is not addressed, it could result in engine failure. To date, where this condition has been observed, it has occurred early in the vehicle life.
What customers need to know: They should drive and enjoy their vehicles without fear. If their car demonstrates this condition, they are likely to hear unusual valvetrain noise first. I wonder how much faster a stock LS7 would be compared to a stock LS3 in a straight line? There have been many that have put modified LS7's in their cars. Has anyone put in a crate LS7 and ran it? Just curious because with the weight of these cars I'm wondering how much of a difference you would feel?

I know Mac and Baylor have this covered, but still...

I just wanted to suggest you do a search for Nurburgring and ZL1.

Better yet, here's a link.

That is all.

The specific failure has not been relayed, explained or delineated.

And GM has not figured out a way to evaluate or fix the existing bad ones until the motor blows up.....

To think you could evaluate valvetrain wear by listening to the degree of loudness of the valve train ticking noise is a bit far fetched.

The addition of the 1LE for 2013 keeps excitement high and sales moving. So what do we do for 2014? We just happen to have a handful of LS7 production motors available. We have brakes, drive line, suspension and more to go with an LS7. We just happen to have another revered name plate we could use. Why not build a 427 LS7 powered Z/28 in 2014? That will keep the focus on the 5th Gen headed into the 2015 model year. What can you expect in the 15? My guess is a knock you socks off LS9 ZL1. That keeps the 5th Gen new and exciting for the release of the Alpha 6th Gen as a 2016.
THIS WOULD BE WONDERFUL!

you have 100K miles or 5 years. They will handle it! GM is NOT Ford. They admit to their mistakes and own up and fix it. Try having a 5 point slow with a Chinese trans that 2nd/3rd gear grinds with no recall! The synchros eventually sh*t themselves and you only have 1st 5th and 6th.

Do you really want to be driving a ticking bomb around waiting for a catastropic failure to happen any time? And what if you buy a car to drive on sunny Sundays and keep the mileage low. Then the 100K doesn't mean much.

WE ALL drive ticking time bombs. No cars last forever! Every engine WILL fail at some point. Chevrolet will not install a new motor based on fear.

I hear valvetrain noise all the time in my LS3. Is it excessively noisy...I don't think so....but if someone told me the LS3s have a problem with valvetrain....I might get a little paranoid and think my valvetrain noise is louder than usual.

see what I'm sayin?

See now this is a problem in my opinion for people with 2010's. It's the first model year of the 5th gen and especially if you plan on sticking with the camaro like I do since I paid mine cash its really tough to want to trade it in because of the history that goes along with it. Then you also know that there is always going to be improvements every year with something better and something someone wants so and it's really not practical to switch it up every couple years unless you have money to burn. So I guess I will probably be keeping my 2010 and once the last model year comes around with all the bells and whistles of previous improvements maybe I will splurge and buy that one too. Just my .02

Quite frankly I don't see your point, there have been enough people with problem motors to know the problem is real. And GM has provided no diagnostic method.

You would think that GM would want to support loyal customers and one of the flagship vehicles.

Define enough? Do you have a number count? Chevy very much supports loyal customers. Have YOU had a problem with YOUR LS7 and Chevy DIDN'T take care of you?
NO?
well then SSSHHH!
I wanna get back to enjoying my LS7 Camaro hopeful thread and I WILL be buying one if it comes out!

LIVE at SEMA 2008: Four Chevrolet Camaro Concepts and Accessories Revealed

GM officially present 4 Camaro concepts at the SEMA show 2008. We knew we’d see some variations of the Chevrolet Camaro on present, but the facts had us aching to see the in self. While each has their own rare pull, the LS7 Concept stood outmost.
Attachment 454726

Designed to be something of a bewilder-back to the glory being of the muscle car era when somebody in the know could toddle into their district Chevy dealer and limit the COPO box to order up a chase-bred, fire-breathing 427 V8 in the engine bay, this LS7 Concept shows what 2010 Camaro shoppers might be able to do with a great letter-prose struggle. The LS7, as its name implies, skin the GM Performance Parts LS7. Crate motor tuned to fabricate 550 horsepower gratitude to several GMPP performance accessories.
I remember that day. This has been my home computers wallpaper for as long as I can remember.
