Camaro's Vs. Mustang's

Ok i'm not trying to start a war between people who own Mustangs and Camaros on here or anything as we know what happens mods will throw the conversation down. But I have seen alot more Mustang owners coming on here talking smack and its rediculous in my opinion if you don't like the Camaro don't come here the way I look at it. There are some nice Mustang owners on here though I have seen so they are ok but a few are starting to get annoying.

Ok now to my real reason for starting this thread. Right now I hate that the 2011 Mustangs are faster than the new Camaro because now I have to listen to Mustang fanboys at my work talking about how much better it is since they know I own a Camaro. Last night for example I was talking to a guy I work with that after I told him about how the Camaro would be losing weight eventually and it would all be about who had the better engines. Then his response was we all know who has the better engines making a reference to the new v6 and 5.0 V8 in the 2011 Mustang. All I have to say is that Chevrolet had better make some MAJOR improvements to the power trains in the v6 , SS V8, and finally announce the new Z/28 so that the Camaro can be back on top and I won't have to hear the comments im getting from people again. I know there isn't much they can do about the weight but there better be a new v6 like the Jay Leno 425 hp v6, or the new v6 GM just made to compete with the Ford Taurus SHO. All i'm saying is there better be changes or im not sure its gonna last much longer.

The mustang sold very well even when the Camaro had the performance lead.

its the gearing difference IMO...you put some 3.73s in a SS and it will become a drivers race IMO. GM makes more torque down low from what I've seen. Mustang has a few more peak ponies.
Its like I told my buddy...go buy a 5.0...you can watch my tailights cuz my crap won't be stock. LOL

Weight and gearing make the difference. And until I see production stangs on the dyno I am going to go with the SS making more hp.

The SS needs to go on a diet.

Sounds like you have some personal issues to deal with if any of these car wars keep you up at night and bother you to the point where you are distressed.

as far as the "GM had better do this or better do that" they have bigger fish to fry in their current situation rather than worrying about pissing off a few motorheads that are mad that they think their 426hp car is "slow" when it's fast anyway.

You have got to be kidding about the dyno right? InsideLine has already had it dynoed and the number's were better than that of the Camaro or at least as far as hp goes. 395rwhp and 365rwtq that is about 435hp & 400 ft-lb's at the engine. Ford underated this engine.

I am waiting to learn more on the rumors about a 450hp Boss stang for 2012.

I am HIGHLY skeptical of those numbers. And if it did put down 395rwhp even with only a 12% drive train loss that would be right at 450hp.

I think that either that dyno generally reads high or that the tester they put on the dyno was tuned.

I am waiting to see what production 5.0s put down.

I am more inclined to believe the 377rwhp that Motor Trend got out of their tester 5.0.

I dont see what would lead you to believe that Edmund's would tune it and then post up vid's. I do however understand what your saying about the dyno though. Do you have a link to the video of motortrend's dyno?

I am not saying Edmund's tuned it. I am saying that Ford gave them a juiced GT to test. I would love to be proven wrong.

And no I don't have a link to the Motor Trend dyno run. I haven't seen it. I just read about it in one of the articles about the new GT.

395whp is a bit high, we will see when they start getting on the street, I am thinking 360 to the wheels.

I figured it would be in the 355-365rwhp range. If it is in the 370-380rwhp range stock that would be amazing.
