Question for ZL1 owners

What is the fastest 1/4 mile time stock that you have recorded?

You can search around, there are tons of different 1/4 mile threads and you'll find that as far as bone stock it seems to be low 12's. Chevy's pro's are the only ones I know of that to date have driven one 100% stock, including stock tires, into the 11's. And even that one has caused a bunch of debates on if it was legit...I'm sure once people start getting used to the cars you'll see high 11's from the average joe at the track in stock form.

Some minor mods are getting the cars into the mid 11's easy with traps over 120mph. (close to what a stock '13 GT500 is running)

Best I have seen to date is 12.02 out of a manual car if you search you can find the video of it on here.

best out of an auto was 12.3 I think. I have not seen a a good pass out of a stock auto yet. GM did there PR thing where they claim 11.93 but the numbers don't really add up to me.

slicks and skinny's I have seen someone go 11.4 in an auto I think

the best drag radial time I think I saw was 11.6 or so.

oddly enough data about each of these cars is slow to hit. we were brain washed to belive that whent he ford was out time would hit imediatly and the first independated time I have seen is 11.8@123 stock and 11.2@128 DR.

So the 2013 is more car for sure in the 1/4 but right now best time manaul vs manual is .2. the gearing and wieght are differnt so trap speed is higher. In my mind though .4 what is should be. they have 90hp advantage.

Oddly enough there have been no lap times of the car destroying a ZL1 either hoping to see a head to head there. that means more to me. both these cars can be put in the 10's so easy it is stupid and that will get you kicked out of any NHRA sanctioned event right now. Some will even boot you for 11.5 for not having a scattershield wich is just a tire choice away stock.

Do you know if that 11.8 for the gt500 was by an average joe or a professional driver?

Yep. Both cars are fast, that is for sure. It seems like ford production and their media/pr group had different calendars. People were getting their cars the same week the mags were getting to drive it for the first time. Both of these cars better be at the lightning lap this year!!!

I don'tknow if I would call him average, but he is a normal guy that happens to be a hell of a driver. That time has a lot of room for improvement, as the same guy cracked into the 11s on street tires with his 2011/12 gt500 as well. The DA was better when he ran on drag radials.

That was an average driver from the other forums. oddly enough though in the quartermile average joe can be pretty fast at times.

This guy I think said that he had got 11.90's out of a 2011 so he can drive if that is true.

His street tires pass was the best of 3 back to back runs with no cool down. Also, he mentioned going to Norwalk, so it is quite possible the time for the 2011/12 was run at a faster track, in a better DA. Someone mentioned these passes were done in 1800 DA air.

How much better would the time be if he had a cool down?
