No real major problems with either one...all in all both pretty reliable... Even though you don't plan on racing, the power difference is still noticeable but in my opinion not a deal killer for the V6 ...my $.02 |

I have no ideas why a v6 would have better ride quality than a v8. I doubt the power of the engine makes the ride better or worse.
I'd say this, if you can afford a V8 get one. If you read enough threads on here, you'll see most people with V8 are getting them supercharged for more power. And, supercharging a V8 has nothing to do with the track, most of the time. Just means you can pass any vehicle you want on the road because you hae the power. V8 all the way. Not hating on those with V6, but if you're happy with a V6 that good. I would not buy a V6 Corvette (if it existed), so no way going to buy a V6 Camaro. |

...as the old saying goes... "I could have had a V8..."
I think once you start driving one, ...if you didn't get the V8, ...you'll be looking back thinking you should have... ...now, ...what color ? lol |

Id say get the SS or you'll end trading it in later. I know i did this. The v6 was awesome but the SS is just a different beast.

Its always the same answer really. If you feel the need for the bigger power and you can afford it...get the V8. But the V6 is a very good car. I haven't driven my V6 RS now for a little while. Took her out for a spin today and it re-assured me that I certainly don't need the V8 when this car feels as good as it does...although mine isn't stock either.

I have nothing against the v6 it's a good car but I like the ss fascia and how the exhaust sounds. V6 has plenty of power for me but the v8 has the aggressiveness. Now what I was asking is that is it worth getting the v8 if your not gonna use all that hp? I really care about the appearance more than power.

Even though you may not want the hp now, you might want it later, then you'll have it!...Plus if you like the looks, go for it!!

If you dont care about the power then get the v6 and put a new exhaust (obviously still wont sound like a v8 but you can make it sound good for a v6) and a new fascia. Would be alot cheaper. If you think for any reason the power wont be enough or don't care about the extra money spent...then just go for the v8. That way theres no turnin back.
