Question – If a Camaro is pre-ordered above the total allocation allotment, will the WB order differ from a valid (within allocation) pre-order WB?

No. The "allocation" you're likely referring to is the "production guide number" which was only a guide given to dealers back in October of how many Camaros they could expect to see up through 3rd quarter of this year. The workbench system is unaware of this number and cars ordered above the guide very well could be built during 3rd quarter due to various reasons.

was that guide number the same for all dealers. i see some people say they only had 1 and others say they had 50. is this true?

No. It was different for each dealer. It was based on some demographic calculations including Mustang sales, etc.

No. It's considered confidential to each dealer. Usually they'll tell you what theirs was but you just have to trust that they're not BSing you.

Nope. Those numbers were available at chevylaunch early on in the pre-ordering period, but have now been removed, so you'd have to take the word of your dealer as to how many cars he got.

i am more curious what other dealers got. if it was true that some got 1 and others got 50 even though the dealer can take more orders than he was allocated. it makes no sense.

other question is if dealer took more orders then he was allocated will those people have to wait for all the other dealers get there allocated cars before the over orders get theres?

Well, it is all based on what GM thought a particular dealer could sell based on some factors. So some dealers may have only gotten 1 while others dealers got 50. But remember, those allocation numbers were through Q3. So dealers will get more cars, but it will just take time.

I think it will come down to pre-orders. GM will want to get those cars out that are sold. So a dealer who sold +1 over their allocation may get that car before another dealer's stock car. But one of the dealers on here may be able to give you a more concrete answer.
