Wow. I really like the wall décor. Can never have enough Camaro signs and posters!! The garage looks like a pretty nice "sanctuary" too!

Alright, this is the project that made me want to start this thread. Here is a 3/4 finished workshop that will be housed in my garage. It looks like crap compared to most of y'all's but there is a lot of room for improvement! I just hope I can get it taped & painted before it gets below freezing every day. -Kerry@Pfadt

Some are older pics but as most garages they are always a work in progress.
Can I get some more info on the challenger lift? Which model is that? What's your ceiling height?

I'll play.
Mine is no where near as neat, clean and nice as others but its mine. 28' x 32' with 15' ceilings on the left bay where the lift is and a bonus 12' x 18' room upstairs for whatever. I built this back in 2009 myself and still need to finish a lot of things. Its slowly coming together though.

I put some garage floor paint down on this side to see how well it works. So far so good. I'd like to epoxy the floors but its a working garage and all I need for it to do is make for easier cleanup and keep dust down. For that it works fine.

Its a bit tight on the left to walk around the lift but I manage. I wanted all my space on the right side and front/back. The CGM 2011 has since been replaced by a Black 2013 too.

Current picture of the upstairs. I need to finish this room.

There are no words to describe how much better it is to work on a vehicle if you have your own lift. I cant stress how much better you will enjoy it if when you build a garage plan for one. I know of no one that has regretted getting one. They are not as expensive and hard to install as you might think.

My challenger lift is their CL10V3 model. Which is a beefier version of their E10 model but the CL10V3 is made in the USA. It's a 10,000 lb rated lift (which most are as a minimum these days). The V3 means that is has the Versymmetric lifting option with 3 stage front arms. The versymmetric lifting option means that the arms are designed to accommodate either symmetric lifting where the vehicle wheel base is centered on the lift front to rear or I can lift asymmetrically which is where more of the car hangs off the rear of the lift than the front of the lift. This is handy because with a two door car you don't have to pull all the way thru the lift so you can still get your door open. But if you lift something larger like a pick-up truck then you can use the symmetric lifting to help keep the vehicle balanced better. The 3 stage front arms means that the arm is 3 separate box tube pieces that telescope in and out of each other so you get more extension length out of the front arms.

My ceiling height is minimum 12ft-6in and greater in some places due to the slope of the floor for my floor drains. The lift I have requires a minimum of 12 ft ceilings for clearance.

Depending on your installer and price you can get it will likely run you somewhere around $5,000 for the lift. But as others have said it will be the best $5,000 you have ever spent on your cars if you like to work on them and maintain them yourself. Makes everything easier. Even waxing the car is much easier because I can just lift it up to eye level when waxing the lower doors and rockers (see pics below).

I really like your Texaco theme!! Nice garage/shop! That first pic showing the outside looking like an old service station is really neat!! Your shop theme has me and thinking of all kinds of neat things I'd like to do with my shop.

Thanks for posting!!

Damn nice garage CarNut! You are about 15 minutes from me. If you ever do an "open house" let me know, would love to see it in person.

This is one of my favorite threads to check each week. I had no idea there could be so many cool variations of garages!
