hey all. need some help....
the bow tie clips from clean cut are a joke. no way im trusting them to hold my painted bow tie on. It wouldnt even stay sitting still, let alone at 60MPH what have you done to attach your bow tie... same issue with the SS emblem. I tried a few things, didnt work. Anyone have suggestions. grille is in and im ready to install my embelms... thanks |

Any chance you can drill a hole through the tab and zip tie? Had to do that on my truck when I swapped the grill.

I too have the clips from CCC. While I did have one fall off the first time I tried putting the grille back on, after I placed it back on I haven't had any issues with them. However, I still decided to upgrade to the backing plate which is also available from Clean Cut Creations and will install it when I upgrade my headlights and put my new bowties on.

I have seen pics but it makes the emblem stick out pretty far IMO, I have heard GM actually has something similar, have parts number waiting for some pics or info from dealer.... I guess worst case this is an option but for right now im trying to find a better looking one |

I can't help you with the Bowtie b/c I decided to delete it on my Heritage grille. I did however trim some of the back off of the SS emblem and then drilled holes in the back plastic that I left on and used zip ties. Works great and is very sturdy.

I purposely broke the clips off of the factory emblem for perfect alignment, and used double-sided 3M tape to hold it in place while I used black hot glue to permanently fasten it to the grille...has been secure for almost a year w/o issue.

Zipties
I used zipties on both the bowtie and the SS emblems. Seems to be working out just fine!

I'm not certain how well hot glue would do for such an application, but it seems like it would work. You wouldn't see it anyway, since it would be on the back side of the grille. I think if you stick it on with permanent double-sided tape (they sell it at Walmart, for sticking up street address numbers and stuff -- just make sure you get the "permanent" stuff, not the cheap-y foam style stuff) and then glob a healthy amount of hot glue behind it and around the grille slats, that should definitely hold. |

I want to bowtie on mine too. Too many people buy the heritage grill and put nothing on it, IMHO it looks dull, and I want to stand out from them.
Too bad those brackets don't work. |
