Got some BMR 1.4" installed today. I'm not sure if it will settle anymore.

I went with BMR 1.4 in the front. I liked how it set so much I didn't install the rear ones. No problems here.

I'd never find the cajones to get it done, but those side vents are sweet.

So lowering doesnt affect the magnetic ride suspension? I had read somewhere that the performance of the car's mag ride is calibrated to the shocks in terms of shock travel, shock fluid etc etc etc and that altering that calibration adversely affects performance of the suspension. Is this not true? I really want to lower my Z also but been too afraid to do so. I mean GM invests millions into r&d of the mag ride and slapping on a $300 set of springs is supposed to improve performance or is the lowering just for appearances? Please school me if what i read is wrong. Thanks in advance.

IMHO I think it is about appearance more than performance. I don't see enough of a difference when lowering these cars. I love cars with the right stance. When it comes to looks I feel that is the biggest thing that can make your car look mean. I had a lowered 13 SS before I got my ZL1. I could barely tell I lowered it after I did it. It may have been me coming from a lowered SRT8 300C, which was a huge diff, to a Camaro. With all the work it takes to lower a mag suspension I just don't see it making a huge difference. The AirRide's, on the other hand, are nasty looking! They look damn good on the ground. I don't know who it is but there is a car on ZL1 Exclusive that has a crazy paint job (iridescent with a paint splatter hood), I never thought I would like that but I am starting to love it, with air and that thing is gorgeous. But, the way the wheels fit in the arches at stock ride height is perfect and that is enough for me.

I’ve not been on the same tracks before and after lowering so I can’t really compare performance.

I lowered it to lower the center of gravity. I certainly don’t believe it hurt handling any.

I thought the rear electrical unpinning was a pain in the ass. I would probably not have messed with it had I known this prior to tearing it apart.

Someone else did this and I want to say they did get ECU codes and limp mode until they sorted it out. Do some searching on this forum - it may have been in the track subgroup.

What do you mean limp mode? i know KW sells some overpriced 500$ Resistors pretty much that you plug and play once you go coilovers, but im wondering can you just tune this out or what?

Also what post is it under, i cant find anything related to issues with coilovers and magenetic ride, and the dash codes and how to fix it.

So, I've been going through this thread up and down thoroughly. I'm thinking yes, you can lower but only should go this low?
