help with a Mustang friend

Have a friend who is leaning towards a Mustang GT. After driving my 1LE he is still up in the air about what to do.
He is convinced the Mustang is the better straight line performer as he's not interested in cornering ability.
Give me some ammunition that maybe I haven't thought of to keep him from the dark side.
He wants an automatic no less.
Thanks.

Well sound like you have to just let him go. I have a buddy that went with a mustang also and just got to let them get what they want.

The gearing on the 1LE is actually really well geared for 0-60, 3.91 rear, first goes to 50 second like 75. two gear 0-60 is legit. tires are wider, better grip, more HP, more tq....

Let him get the Stang. That would create some serious grudge matches at your local strip.

Tell him he is probably gonna find lots of road actually having corners! Otherwise, if he is not interested into corners, he can spare money by asking a car without a steering wheel nor turning front wheels... A Hot Wheels (the toy, not the camaro) should be perfect for him

A 300A GT with a auto I think is the best ban for the buck Drag racing car out there wright now. The 1LE is the best ban for the buck track day car out there wright now. If all he wants to do is go drag racing let him roll the mustang.

Look at this way, if you hard sell him until he buys a Camaro and he isn't happy, its on you. If you dont hard sell him and he makes the decision to buy a Mustang but isn't happy, its on him. If he does like the Mustang then you'll both be happy.

The Camaro is easier to mod internally(if hes a DIY guy), like doing a camswap. If he wanna stay stock with warranty and needs an auto, he should get the stang.

There is a car for any taste. Let him get his Mustang. I have a Mustang and now I'm planing to get a 1LE. Just Chargers & Challenger are crap mobiles very heavy vehicles only good for straight racing. Dodge vehicles look like funeral vehicles.

I used to drive a 911 Carrera, that I also tracked at my local PCA club. After I read MT article on how the '11 Mustang GT 5.0 went head to head with the BMW M3 (later on the BOSS killed the M3), immediately I went and bought my first Mustang Muscle car with the Track Package (I did not even miss my 911. Great Car). At that time the Mustang was killing Camaro's. But now that the Camaro ZL1 that goes head to head with the Mustang GT500, depending on the track. The Camaro 1LE that for much less $ killed the Mustang BOSS Laguna and now it goes head to head with cars Corvette Z06 Carbon edition or the Corvette ZR1 are great fighters VS other exotics costing double or triple $. And if we don't forget the record breaking '10 Viper ACR, that toasted most exotics, in the Nurburgring Track.
Let's not forget the best off road truck in the world the FORD Raptor, that still now it does not have any stock pickup competition, and the Cadillac CTS V sedan & wagon that beat most european sedans, until the Porsche Panamera S Turbo, showed its face.
Before I used to glance to the Euro and Japanese market, but not anymore, we don't need to with these great American cars, even that the Englishmen from Top Gear do not want to admit that.
