Can we stop these top speed on the highway posts?

I have seen many posts lately where people have announced they have driven their Camaro on public highways at over 140MPH.
Why does anyone feel compelled to drive at 140+ mph on the public roadways? How many that have posted driving at those speeds have ever taken a performance driving course? Seems like a very big chance you are taking just to see how fast your car can go...
Not only that, do they not realize we have many young drivers reading these posts and will probably want to go out and duplicate some of these actions..People that have very little driving experience even at highway speeds....
I think it is time to stop posting things like this about ultra high speed on public roadways. It is no better than Street racing posts. but somehow the Mods have overlooked these type posts.

I know this will probably get me cussed and ridiculed, but i think it needed to be said.

Thank you.....

My answer is no.

Others will probably feel differently.

To each his/her own.

Let me know which threads you are talking about. But most of the time they end up getting closed.
It's just stupid IMO to post about this stuff.
And even more stupid to actually do it.

If I were to do anything like this, I certainly wouldn't post or brag about it on a public forum... and getting caught after posting stupid stuff like that is a sure way to get on Failblog.

Fellas, we know the damn car can go that fast. There is no reason to try it out.

Great now i cant post my top speed run when i do it when the car is broke in. Completely joking! As one suggested, why go brag about it? I understand that. I just want to have a little fun. Tape it for proof and never do it again . I in no way want to put anyone into jeopardy with my actions of being stupid. If im going to do this ill do it in an area that is secluded.

I've been to a performance driving school, and I drive the speed limit. I know that I can, and feel comfortable driving faster, but I'm waiting until I know for sure I won't get a ticket to drive fast. That time ladies and gentlement is at the track where there's no speed limit. I would say the autobahn but I don't plan on taking my car to Germany anytime soon.
