Was there ever a Chevrolet car with a Z/27 code?
Just curious.

not that I remember... Z24, Z28, Z34, Z71, Z66 have all been used on cars and trucks, but can't remember ever seeing a Z27

hmmmmm... 1971 Camaro SS option code was the Z27 code... just remembered that... lol

So I guess that means that the Z28 was higher than the SS, which apparently was the Z27. Then again, 27 is closer to #1 so I guess the debate will continue. Much like the debate about what the El Camino is: Car or Truck.

well, if you use that logic, then the Z24 cavalier is top dawg...lol

RPO Z27 was the code I ordered for my 71 SS. Z27 was never displayed as a badge on a Camaro like the Z28 emblems. For 1971 the Z28 was king of the horsepower ratings at 330 HP. The SS came in at 270 HP with the 350ci and 300HP with the big block. Big block being a $90 option and Z28 somewhere around $750 if I remember right.

So in 1971 the SS rpo code was Z/27. The Z/28 came in1968 so was the z27 taken then as well?
