ZL1 front end conversion: Which upper grille?
I am doing the zl1 front end conversion and was wondering if i should keep my stock RS grille or put on a heritage grille?

Personally I prefer the stock grill or a phantom ...it fades to black real nice

ZL1 grill FTW!
I snap a few pic during the pick up and I debadged the emblem! Still waiting for the emblempros for the new RS badge. Last edited by JustRaf; 12-03-2012 at 02:26 PM. |

My car in the first picture. I would go with the stock RS grille or the ZL1 grille. I'm not a fan of the Heritage-the grille doesn't seem to go together with the ZL1's bumper grille. It's a retro-looking piece while the rest of the car has a modern look. If you do go with the Heritage, I think it looks best unpainted/natural color. But then you have to decide which badge(s) you want to leave on or off. I went with the stock grille to save some time and money. I did not want to slap an emblem on the ZL1 grille or have one customized. I haven't seen one that I like yet. The stock grille looks good the way it is and pays homage to the original ZL1 look. Does the ZL1 grille flow any better than the stock grille? Some more opinions at http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238252 Last edited by jameslk55; 12-03-2012 at 07:21 PM. |

Stock RS grille. The way GM unleashed the ZL1 in the beginning.

ZL1 Frony Rnd Cost?
What's the most inexpensive way to get a ZL- front end without the paint?

Price is really not a concern for me but I went with Gary custom un painted in order to get better match. The going with heritage. Next if not would be the zl1 grill. Don't care for the OEM grill on zl1 for some reason. Looks ok just not as custom looking IMO. I might choose the zl1 after some front lighting mods or badges come out. As stated will be running heritage with badges on mine
I paid around $1300 I think from Gary for un painted and then body shop couple hundred once painted and installed |
