Just wait for a while (I know it's hard to). As soon as word gets out that the majority of dealers are charging 2 to 5K over MSRP, the demand will shrink. Once all of the folks here get their car, the dealerships are going to be flooded with them and they'll be desperate for a sale.

Drilling, I would not go for that. Camaros will start pouring in the next few months, and they can be purchased now at MSRP. I would call Jay at Huffines in Plano. They still have plenty of allocation left, and they sell at MSRP. Even if it means waiting a few more months, I certainly would not be held hostage to that deal!

Don't think for one moment you can't get them to come down.
They are watching these sites and let me tell ya it works.
i've got 1 dealer in east tn who is agreeing to go msrp, and another here in east tn who is charging 2 grand over retail. i advised both of them that people will remember this and the other dealer is now offering msrp.
to anyone here thinking of buying this car, for God's sakes, don't make a mistake and pay over retail for the camaro. I know it's hard not to, as i am really wanting one, but REFUSE to pay over the sticker price. I think there will not be as many produced as some say, as i think SS's will be somewhat scarce, but overall prices should steady off. This whole debacle of price gouging is insane and GM should have 'directed' their dealers to stick to cost on these vehicles to give some help to the general public. I believe we as taxpayers are at least owed that by GM and their dealers due to a bailout that obviously kept them afloat while the camaros were being produced to sell us. I think it's an absolute crime to take our hardearned dollars from the government and then bite the very hand that fed them. Congress, the President and our leadership needs to be aware that this will not be tolerated and something could be done to prevent future 'gouging' of a car that has such a following. IF folks could walk in to their local dealer and get this car at msrp, which is allowing a very generous profit to the dealer and still be within reason, and it also allows good will on dealer/customer relations and everyone benefits from this. sorry for the soapbox talk, but this just chaffes my ass on this touchy subject.

I agree with most other posts. The car is beautiful and I'm sure you've been waiting for quite sometime, but do you really want to give your business and hard earned money to a shady dealer? Were you previously promised MSRP just not in writing? Either way tough it out and just reorder man. Sorry for your misfortune
