Issue not fixed.

Ok so for a while now I have been having a noise coming from the rear end of my car. Its is like a low hum and you only hear it on rough roads. My dealer told me it was most likely reverberation from the Pirelli's, so I bought some new tires and had them installed. But the problem is still there, so im beginning to believe it has got to be something in the suspension. Remember you cannot hear the noise on smooth roads, only rough ones. I really dont know what to do. Guess ill just take it back and take them for a drive again so they can hear its still there.

And by the way I have been meaning to get some all-season tires. So im not unhappy with buying new ones.

i would not be surprised if the noise is coming from the tires...are the rear tires worn? Performance tires tend to get noisy as they wear.

As I said in the original post, there are brand spanking new tires on my car, and I still have the noise.

There will be a noticeable difference in tire noise depending on the road surface. I've driven on expressways that have 2 lanes black top and 2 lanes concrete. Huge difference in the two road surfaces.

A Corvette is very much the same way. Part of it is the 20" wheels. The low aspect ratio gives you a much stiffer sidewall than the 19s or 18s.

Number 3 was a 1LT with the 18s. The biggest difference I noticed in the first SS I drove was tire noise. Very noticable between the two cars.

Can't say for sure without driving your car, but what you are describing sounds about normal, even for my wife's Cruze.

have the rear axle checked. I had an old chevy 1986, and I remember I heard a humming sound, ignorred it, turned up the radio etc, rear axle went, and to do a swap with a used axle. I have had the stock 18's and the 20's on my car at all speeds, and road conditions, never heard a humming,

And also guys I have had the car since late 2009, the noise only recently appeared. And I guess hum isnt really the right word to use. Next time I go to the dealer I will insist on taking a similar camaro off the lot and onto the road I hear it on. And if its not there then they have no option to check it.

i007spectre, have you been able to take another vehicle for a test drive yet to see if the noises are the same or even present between the two vehicles? I hope your issue isn't as serious as mydreamcar's 1986! Keep us up on what you end up doing.

I have the same tire noise in my 2010 SS 17,000 mi. It sounds to me like I am running winter tires. The noise comes in at around 45 mph. Under when i slow to a stop with light presure on the peddle it lasts until around 5 mph really loud. Sound like it is comming from the left rear.
