Hurst factory shifter BS?

I am interested in switching my Hurst factory shifter stick to the chrome stick and white ball instead of the original leather knob. So I call Hurst to get the right part number and they say GM doesn't allow them to mfr. or sell a replacement stick if you bought the factory installed shifter. Said I had to buy a whole new shifter set since their normal chrome stick will not fit the factory shifter mechanism. I haven't taken mine apart to see if it uses the 2 hole attachment that is common. Has anyone done this on a 2013 manual SS with the factory Hurst? Sure sounds like some corporate/marketing BS.

It is, but Hurst gave you the correct information.

Looking at this video it won't work
, if you're interested in taking a short drive ( maybe 1000 miles or so ) head up to Michigan and I'll help you install it.....better yet, just send it to me and I'll install it in my SS and let you know how it work out form.

The factory Hurst stick looks just like the standard one but wilth different angles/dimensions. Therefore the stick alone isn't replaceable.

I thought for 2013 they got rid of Hurst and just call it the "performance short-throw shifter" made by GM.

I believe that's for 1LEs and ZL1s only.

The factory Hurst is a totally different shifter than the aftermarket Hurst Billet/Plus2. You can't just change the stick.

They dis-continued the Hurst in December. But now they offer a short throw one. Too bad I ordered mine in late Dec. so I got stuck with the stock shifter.

The after market Hurst Billet Shifter is 44% shorter throw then the stock shifter. The factory Hurst shifter is only 22% shorter throw. Also the a/m Hurst costs less than the factory one.

Nope it won't fit. In order to install the hurst stick and ball you need their aftermarket shiftier.
