Due to the fact that it's something that would have to be pointed out, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Even after you further explained it, I literally can not see the difference. Granted, it may be something you have to see in person, but I thought you meant it was a different styled bumper by the way you were discussing it.

They look identical to me.

I really do wonder about this though. He was pretty explicit about it actually being a different part number than the original...I never looked closely at at area before so I never noticed a color difference, but all the pics I have looked at of my old one do -seem- a little darker in that area.

Only difference I can see is that the "new" GFX piece has little circular bumps in between the ridges

Thats what mine look like too. They have the 3 "slots" between the exhaust tips.
