I married in 1980 at 19 and promptly traded in my much loved '72 Pontiac Lemans for 39 years of transportation appliance while we raised 10 kids. Still the best move I ever made. All that time I knew someday I'd be able to get back into a car that was actually fun to drive. To feed that family I work as a software engineer so money wasn't the issue but family obligations came first. No regrets here. Family is still the most important thing in my life.

Well someday is still approaching in the form of a C7 but I'm certainly headed in the right direction. In '09 I picked up a G8 V6 that I loved and drove it for 108K miles. The next year Chevy raised the Camaro from the dead and I knew what my next ride would be. Last month I picked up a SIM 2LT/RS and couldn't be happier with it. 3 out of the 4 kids still home actually fit in the back seat. Though my 6'2", 220lb son really misses the G8.

I feel the mod bug coming on...

Welcome and glad you got to pick up a Camaro!
I got married the same year as you, raised three children (still married), and have always still kept the high performance cars. Even had my wife take one of the Vette's from me once when she discovered how much fun it was to drive. It became hers for months, lol.

I haven't had much time to get any good pics yet. I have some cell phone shot from the night I picked her up but they aren't very good. What I have is in my garage.

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.
