If I add Borla exhaust with Cold air intake, will it void the warranty?

If I add Borla exhaust with Cold air intake, will it void the warranty? Im sure its been discussed before. Basically I added a 10 year bumper to bumper extended warranty. Im sure im going to call the dealership and ask first before i spend money, but thought I would ask you guys first. Thank you!

PLEASE READ:

http://www.sema.org/sema-enews/2011/...ermarket-parts

specifically:

"The alert notes that a consumer has the right to patronize independent retail stores and repair shops for parts and service without fear of voiding the new car warranty. The dealer/vehicle manufacturer has the right to deny a warranty repair but they must demonstrate that the aftermarket part caused the problem. The warranty remains in effect for all other covered parts."

it will void any warranty on the exhaust but as long as you don't re-tune it you are fine.

The dealer has to link the cause of the problem to your modification. So if your exhaust hangers brake, sure it may be reasonable that the exhaust could have something to do with it. But if your A/c stops working, no way can they blame you.

Here is a link to an article on our blog that discusses the relationship between modifying your car and warranty law. Give it a read and if you have any questions feel free to hit me up.

Will This Mod Void My Warranty?

Nope. I was told a CAI is fine and as long as you do a cat or axle back your fine. If you mess with the cats or headers they can void it.

Hope that's not true about to order solo highflows they just bolt on so I guess I could always switch back if a problem arises

If your dealer is cool none of this voids your overall warranty. Obviously they won't warranty your mod i.e. exhaust, CAI, headers whatever else.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ x inf.
Contacting your dealer and telling them what you plan to do is also an option. Cai and cat/axle-back are generally O-K. Like mentioned above, the mod would have to be the cause of a warrantied failure, hurp durp (exhaust warranty probably gone lol)
Cheers.

I asked and the mechanic if a CAI will void my...and they immediately said "Yes. Its too much air that damages the MAF over time".

Made me mad as I get thorough, cheap oil changes there and I don't want to swap out for every oil change.

I could try a closer dealer but they're further out now in days.
