Is the point to hide that you drive an automatic or just for the leather?

Where do you get the black bolting part on the bottom of the boot? Only thing I see for sale is the Leather shift boot, Does it come with it?

Yea it's part of the boot.

One thing I did was file the corners on the chrome part of the shifter where you zip tie it so it doesn't slide down with time. Worked out perfect.

If you just get the leather boot you have to make something that will hold the boot in, but if you buy a manual boot it comes attached to the plastic ring. You can remove the knob like in this thread and use it.

So I need to buy the shifter knob and boot combo from GM, and not just the boot to get the mounting ring?

I found one on EBay for $34.99. I think they may have had more too., but it has red stitching.

I can't tell if that's gonna look right or not like the quality, I don't trust ebay much. I want to buy a 45th anniversary red & blue stitching sit handle but I don't think the boot has blue & red stitching on it aswell. So just a red or blue seperate stitched boot with plastic part, together that's gonna be probably 100-130$

I am pretty sure it's a factory shift boot and knob. That's what it says in the description and item details. He does have a 100% feedback rating also. I got mine today and it looks great, I am now waiting on my drake shifter to install it.

The ones I would be leery of are the ones where they sell just the leather boot.

I got the part number for the ZL1 Shift Boot and ordered it from GM Parts House. It had a ring at the top that I needed to remove, other then that a little trimming on the plastic base ring and it fix perfectly.
