Wedding Worthy...

So after working at my job for about 5 weeks, every single one of my co-workers have noticed my car. This one co-worker that I work with most of the time is getting married next week and was originally going to use his truck as the "Just Married" car. Instead, he asked if I could borrow my car during the day of the marriage because of how nice it is. He said he would be honored to drive away in such a hot ride. I told him yes of course because I think it is cool that he wants my car in the first place. Just letting all of you C5 users how nice and well liked our cars truly are!

I understand how you can think that. Personally, he takes great care of his car so I'm not worried about anything. Thankfully it's only for a few hours.

I went over the rules already... I told them don't do anything stupid. This car is my pride and joy and I won't tolerate any misconduct with the car.

Hmm, I know it's not their car, but try recommending this:

Tell him to specifically warn the wedding party, too - I'd be more concerned about them than the bride & groom. If it were me I'd say cans tied off well behind the bumper is okay, but scribbling "JUST MARRIED!!!" on every pane of glass is a big no-no.

Good on ya, OP. I actually offered the same thing to my brother who's getting married in a month. He turned it down, though - instead he's going with a contact a friend of ours has, who rented our friend a 1927 Rolls Royce for the afternoon of his wedding in May! $50 for the day! Definitely a better deal.

My car is not allowed within 500 yards of any wedding. Neither am I.

Nice man! Just out of curiosity.. Are window markers bad for windows?

Oh it was beautiful - gleaming pearl white, chrome & gold trim, looked like it just came out of a museum. Or through a time warp from the RR factory 85 years ago.

I don't know if marking them up is necessarily BAD for them - I mean this is the time of year when all the newly-graduated high school girls are writing all kinds of congratulatory insanity on their cars after all, and that always seems to go away without leaving anything - but I don't want to end up cleaning it off myself almost as much as I don't want to risk damage. Call me overly concerned, haha.

Besides the classic image of getting married is of the happy couple driving away in a Ford Thunderbird convertible or something, anyway, where there was no glass to mark up. Do you think if you trade up to a convertible "for them" they'll cover the difference?

I'd never let anyone drive my cars, unless I'm in it myself... or unless they have the same car.

10 days after I got my 1LT in may of 09 I got married and we drove off in it, but I told her to tell everyone glass chalk or whatever and they might see the hulk, luckily no harm was done

My goal was to have my car before the wedding, but due to shady dealings from one dealer, I had to cancel my order and go through another. It arrived a month too late, but yeah, the car is definitely wedding worthy!
