I've had several experts say the K/N lets too many particles through and especially if you use it dry and they don't work well without oil. All the tuning sensors now days also can sense the hydrocarbons in the filter oil and allow the ECM to mistakenly give you a bad tune. The recommended solution is a Wix dry racing filter. This may be open for argument but sounds realistic unless someone can say otherwise. I work around equipment that can detect 1 PPM hydrocarbon in the atmosphere so this sounds valid to me.
