^ yes that look's like a perfect SS kill video. Auto vs Auto and the SS got a 1/2 car jump and lead on the GT and the GT overtook the SS in first gear and put a whole 1.5 car lengths on the SS by the end, it looks like definitive proof the the auto GT is faster then a L99.

How can anyone argue since we took all the factors out of the equation and the GT passed the SS.

This is where the unique situation of Pedders doing the test. Tires and wheels are the same, drivers the same. Test equipment are the same. The c challenge here is who will be upset about the findings. Some one will not be happy. It is just like the Superbowl, World Series, and World Cup. There are no ties.

Very true, thats why all I care about is that my particular car is in front of x particular car that I`m racing... Otherwise, I don`t really care what video`s show that x car beat x car...

Yeah obviously a 5.0 is gonna have the edge on an L99, since it has both HP and weight advantages. It's the Manual Camaro that's the main competitor.

I'll finally get to compare. I own a new 5.0 manual with the 3.73 and brembo pacakge. I will test drive an SS tonight for comparisons sake when I go pick up tags for another Chevrolet I own. I'm really interested to see how it is. I've read all the articles, but never driven one.

The only real factor I seen in this race was weight, in all honesty if the camaro where just a little bit lighter it would be tied or winning

Now not disputing the fact that an auto 5.0 mustang is faster than an L99 Camaro, I would agree this would be the case, 12 less hp, 250+ lbs less gearing, 5.0 auto should win every time from a dig especially. What I found a little strange in the vid though is it appears the Camaro stops falling back and if you look at the camaro`s mirror once the camera man turns around there is space between the mustangs inner rt C pillar and the camaro`s mirror, this gap closes slowly and when the vid is cut the mirror is starting to get ready to be hidden by the rt C pillar. Now the question is did the camera move or did the mustang let off? Or is the Camaro no longer falling back but starting to inch up? The Audio is bad but appears they are still at WOT when the film is cut. Watch it again and see if anyone else see`s that. I think its the camera man moving but I`m not sure. Regardless that is exactly what i would expect to see happen with those 2 cars stock for stock.

Obviously. If the mustang had a 500 lb man in the passenger seat, the results would have changed. What's your point?

250lbs heavier and 12 less HP than the GT. That equates to about 3/10's edge in the 1/4 mile for the GT. Not surprising at all.

Oh please god don't be another if you raced the cars a mile the Camaro would win type person.

Yes the Camaro appeared to pull a little at the end of the race.

that MIGHT have been due to the Mustang having an extra passenger as well.
