It will probably no more than 450 hp since the Z28 will be coming out.

If specs on paper dont guarantee anything, then how come GM QUICKLY had the V6 "certified" at 312hp instead of leaving it alone at 304? GM will probably only bump the HP enough so that they can advertise a better 0-60 and 1/4 mile times then the mustang wich wont take much. Specs on paper mean alot to manufacturers.

Awesome! I'm wondering if they will try to equal out the L99 relative to the LS3, or will there still be a decent margin of difference between the two...

Someone should post what the LS3 makes out of the crate..... But taking 426HP on paper and making it 440 won't make the car any faster.

And if they do it to Camaro, Corvette has to have a similar fate.

But that would make no sense considering they sighted the 1/4mile times as a reason for the bump. A re-certification would do nothing for performance

Well to really beat the Mustang just give us 3.73 gears from the factory and problem solved. Then on paper they should be the same with just that change.

I could see the Camaro going to 440HP and the Vette going to 450. The Vette needs something to boost its sales considering it is almost in it's 7th year on the market with the C7 like 2 years away.

The SS already beats the GT.

The V6 is the one that loses to the Mustang V6. I agree that its the gearing. One look at the top speeds difference wil tell U somethings up.

Mustang V6 Top speed 113MPH
Camaro V6 Top Speed 157MPH

I'm gonna LMFAO if it's only like a 5 hp increase... LS3 426hp to 431hp and L99 400hp to 405hp. I hope they add a litlle more oats to it like they did the Challenger and hopefully the Z will have a few extra horses laying around somewhere that the Caddy doesn't have too.( exhaust, bigger charge cooler, etc.) We'll see..... just don't put the stupid tail lights and crappy side mirrors on the 2012 or I ain't buying it.

Should be an easy increase; install different intake, adjust the tune,
and there you have it!
Chevy has done a marvelous job in marketing the Camaro, keeping the interest up, ie;
Color changes, special editions, convertible, now this!
Now to mention.....a Z28!
