3D Carbon fender vent material - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hello all,

quick question on the 3d carbon fender vent material, what are they made of? hard plastic or something else?

Looking for them from the mfg but that may not happen. (or cost a lot of cash) how could you replicate that look? I have never seen them in person so i don't know.

I guess it's like fiberglass.. the only think I don't like about them is it has a lip around it, doesn't sit completely flush with the fender but they still look nice. Someone had a set on here for like $130 without the mesh unpainted. Decent deal as they're around 300 painted.

I have them but I have the wrong size...... I ordered mine off ebay from a individual who said they were Camaro/Mustang ones but the mustang ones are slightly smaller.

I had them on my V6 and had to have them when I traded it for the SS I have now. I really like them obviously. They are made out of plastic and I don't know how you could replicate if that's your question. I suppose one could cut his fenders to have openings and tuck them back into the fender. There is another vendor that does something similar but his deal is complete fender replacement to the tune of just over a grand.

I wish 3d Carbon would do a rear gill vent by take these vents and reducing them in size and then reversing them to flow with the gills. I think it could be done and I've been in touch with them on it but nothing has materialized yet for if it had, I'd be all over it.

i dont want to make something that looks funky or not belonging.

yea that is a concern chozn. it has to look clean.. not to sure i like the whole fender looking one. seems out of sync with the lines. maybe.
